Kevin Feige Crew Cap Collection

As Marvel Studios 10th Anniversary approached, The Disney Store reached out to New Era to collaborate on a line of caps celebrating the milestone. Kevin Feige is a big headwear fan and is almost always seen wearing a hat. He gifts the movie crew hats featuring some graphic element of the movie. The Disney Store wanted to take this idea and offer more premium, retail friendly versions of these caps. There were 5 caps in the series starting with Avengers: Infinity War and concluding with Avengers: End Game.

The Disney Store also wanted to separate these hats from their normal headwear offerings with some kind of special packaging or hang tag. The packaging was ultimately decided on. To create a cohesive look with the rest of Marvel’s 10th Anniversary, I used trade dress graphics from the 10th Anniversary style guide to put together the packaging die lines.

Since a few of the crew caps were produced prior to New Era’s involvement in the project, my goal was to take what had already been and add some new feature. I redid the embroidery, bringing it up to New Era’s standards, added a sublimated lining, and addition features specific to each cap.

I upgraded the fabric for Ant-Man and the Wasp from a poly twill to our Hex Tech fabric. Hex Tech has a similar texture to the fabric Ant-Man’s costume is made out of in the movie.

The Avenger’s A logo button on the Iron Man cap is made of gold plated metal with clear epoxy on top. Iron Man was the first film to kick off the Infinity Saga so it seemed fitting to incorporate the A onto the hat.

The star logo on Captain Marvels chest was faithfully recreated on the front of this cap by using a raised bevel embroidery technique. Its a great technique that looks great from every angle.

Since End Game is the second part of Infinity War, I drew the gauntlet Tony made so both caps would share a common element from the story

The Infinity Gauntlet is one of the most iconic weapons in the Marvel universe. It was a no brainer that it should be designed into the hat and makes a nice rear graphic that compliments the front logo.
